ARIEL.
“On the morning of September 16, 1994, during morning break at Ariel Primary School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, between 60 and 62 children between the ages of 5 and 12 watched in astonishment as a silver disc landed in the rough ground beyond the school's playing field.”
The children described a being — small, with a large head, large eyes, and wearing a black suit — that stood on top of the craft and then moved toward the group of watching children across the top of the long grass before disappearing back to the craft, which silently departed. Several children reported receiving a telepathic "message" about environmental destruction. Many were visibly traumatized.
Harvard psychiatrist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Dr. John Mack flew to Zimbabwe to interview the children. He found their accounts strikingly consistent despite the children having no exposure to UFO pop culture. Their drawings, done independently, showed remarkably similar craft and beings. Mack concluded the children were neither lying nor confabulating — they had experienced something genuinely outside normal explanation.
A 2022 documentary, Ariel Phenomenon, revisited the now-adult witnesses. Every one of them stood by their account. Several described the encounter as the most profound experience of their lives and said the "message" they received about the destruction of the natural world had shaped their entire worldview. The case is considered one of the most credible mass-witness UFO events in history.
