“On the night of October 25, 1973, during the broader "October 1973" wave that included the Pascagoula abduction, a group of approximately 15 witnesses near Greensburg, Pennsylvania observed a large, brilliantly luminous, dome-shaped craft descend into a cattle pasture.”
Local Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene. State Trooper J.D. Pulaski responded and observed the luminous landed craft in the field. Trooper Pulaski's official report described a dome-shaped, glowing object roughly 100 feet across resting in the pasture. As police and witnesses approached, the craft and the creatures reportedly disappeared. A residual glow was observed in the field for some time afterward.
The case was investigated by Westmoreland County UFO researcher Stan Gordon, who has spent over 50 years documenting Pennsylvania UFO and "creature" cases. Gordon collected statements from the State Police, the farmers, and additional independent witnesses in the surrounding farms. The case was filed within the Pennsylvania State Police records and the broader files Gordon maintains in his Pennsylvania UFO archive.
The Greensburg "creature" event is considered one of the most extraordinary cases in the broader 1973 US UFO wave because of the alleged combination of a structured craft and humanoid figures observed simultaneously by multiple witnesses including law enforcement. The case strains credulity and remains contested in mainstream UFO research, but the State Police report is documented in the public record and the case continues to be referenced in serious UFO histories of the 1973 wave.
